Two young men were attacked shortly before 02:00 on Saturday morning as they left a nightclub in Beaufort.
The two men were approached by strangers as they headed for their vehicle after partying at the club, who asked the two victims for money. When the latter refused, they were beaten around the face until the club's owners intervened, at which point the two perpetrators fled.
The offenders were both described to be of Mediterranean descent and between 20 and 22 years old. One perpetrator was said to be wearing a hoodie and a scarf. Two female witnesses reported knowing the perpetrator, but left without leaving their identity or contact information, and the police are therefore asking the two women, as well as any other witnesses, to come forward with any information relating to the perpetrators by contacting the emergency number 113.
