A warehouse located in the "am Bruch" Industrial Zone in Crauthem was completely destroyed by fire late on Thursday evening.

At around 22:30 a security guard called for the fire brigade after a fire alarm went off in a warehouse owned by Versis which trades in agriculture products. By the time the fire brigade arrived the fire had grown significantly. The warehouse contained various combustible and flammable materials causing the fire to flare up from time to time with smaller explosions, every time the firefighters appeared to make progress.

In total over 100 firefighters from Frisange, Bettembourg and Roeser tackled the blaze which was extinguished in the early hours of Friday morning.

The cause of the fire is still not known and access to the building and the adjacent buildings was restricted due to the building being in danger of collapsing.

Nobody was injured in the fire. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze.
