On Friday, a fire in a Luxembourg city suburb threatened to spread to nearby buildings.
The fire was reported by a passer-by shortly after 13:00 on rue Auguste Lumière in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, adjacent to the football pitch. The emergency services arrived at the scene in a number of fire tenders and eventually managed to extinguish the blaze in a prefabricated building by 15:15. Nobody was inside at the time of the fire.
While arson cannot be ruled out, the public prosecutor was informed and a forensics examination of the scene was ordered as was an investigation to determine its cause.
