In the early hours of Thursday morning, a horse was killed on the A6 motorway after the horse trailer in which it was travelling tipped over while being driven along the motorway from Belgium towards Luxembourg city.
The hourse trailer had been coupled to a vehicle. When they reached the Bertrange/Helfent exit, the driver lost control of the vehicle which vehicle skidded and crashed into the roadside barriers. The trailer was destroyed upon impact. The horse being transported had been flung from the trailer upon impact and died at the scene of the accident.
The driver did not suffer any physical injuries but was in shock after the accident.
