On Wednesday, the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte and Luxembourg's Ministry of Health presented a Call for Projects in the fight against addiction in Luxembourg.
The launch took place at the Philanthropy building of the National Lottery in Leudelange where the aim of the initiative is to support sustainable and innovative projects providing preventive solutions to problems due to addictions that our society is facing. Projects should aim at a high level of protection in terms of public health, public safety and social cohesion. They must be part of a human dimension and meet a specific need in Luxembourg.
The call for proposals is open to organisations that are legally established as a non-profit association (asbl), foundation or public institution.
The actions proposed must be within the field of the prevention of addictive behaviour. As part of this call for projects, the concept of prevention is defined in its broadest sense including prevention of initiation into the use of psychoactive substances and the emergence of addictive behaviour, prevention of risks and damages associated with substance use and addictive behaviour in general.
The jury set up to review the submitted projects will award funding by category within an overall budget of €250,000 to cover all projects selected.
Any organisation wishing to participate in the call for projects can find out further details and complete the application form, downloadable from 11 January 2016 at www.philanthropie.lu . Projects must be submitted by 15 March 2016.
