On Sunday evening, a train conductor was assaulted in Rodaynge.
The incident happened at around 23:00; the conductor reported to Luxembourg police that a train passenger has insulted him, spat on him and assaulted him. This had happened after the conductor had controlled the passenger at Rodange station and discovered that his ticket had expired two months previously; the conductor pointed this out to the passenger who became agressive and began the assault. When the conductor tried to hold on to the passenger, he (the passenger) tried to punch the conductor, but missed and fled on foot.
The police have started an investigation into the incident.
