On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on Friday 2 October 2015, the Indian Association of Luxembourg (IAL) has organised a get-together to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi Jayanti is an annual national holiday in India, established to honour the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as the 'Father of the Nation'. The date was also adopted in 2007 as the 'International Day of Non-Violence' by the United Nations General Assembly.
The event organised by the Indian Association of Luxembourg will take place at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Luxembourg City's Municipal Park, opposite the Luxembourg City synagogue on Avenue Monterey.
A guest speaker at the occasion will be Ambi Venkataraman, India's Honorary Consul General.
