The Luxembourg food safety authorities have issued a warning to the population of the Grand Duchy that an unlabelled food allergen has been determined in certain products from the Leonidas chocolate brand.
Through the early warning system of the European Commission, Luxembourg authorities were notified that some of the products in question have been re-labeled to indicate the presence of a peanut allergen type, but a number of chocolate products were marketed in Luxembourg with labelling omitting a statement of the presence of peanuts in the product.
These products therefore present a threat to individuals with peanut allergies and should not be consumed by those who would be affected. A list of the specific chocolates to be avoided can be found by clicking here.
Only the products with the indicated lot numbers are concerned, and are only to be avoided by those with a nut allergy. For other people unaffected, the products are safe to be consumed.
