At around 22:35 in the evening of Thursday 27 August 2015, Grand Ducal Police were called out to the Schlammesteen junction, direction Roseser, which ended up the scene of two car accidents and a DUID.

Police were first alerted to the scene following a report from a motorist who had slid on the wet road conditions, losing control of his car and crashing into a ditch on the side of the road. The driver was not injured, and a tow-truck was ordered to pull him from the ditch.

Whilst the car was being towed, a second vehicle arrived on the scene, driven at high speed. The driver was not able to brake in time and crashed into the tow truck, with his own vehicle sliding into the ditch and colliding with the first car.

The second driver fled the scene, heading towards Crauthem, and a Police patrol began to search for the missing motorist.

At the scene, Police were alerted to the presence of a third car waiting to pass through the road, after they detected the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle admitted to having smoked a joint and voluntarily handed a leftover stub and a small bag of marijuana over to the police.

The Police reorted that a throwing star was also found on the man's person during a subsequent body search, which was then confiscated. The driver was taken to hospital for urine and blood samples, and all three incidents were logged.
