Luxembourg Art Week which, since its official opening at the beginning of this week, has attracted more than 3,000 visitors already, is entering the weekend with a rich and diverse programme.
Starting on Tuesday and continuing until tomorrow, Sunday 8 November, the first edition of the week-long event has brought together 19 international galleries and 34 artists selected by the Artistic Circle of Luxembourg.
On Saturday, the exhibition at the Salle Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg is open from 10:30 to 20:00. Special events include a conference fom 17:00 - 18:30 on "Table des matières / Table of Contents", a discussion on art in Luxembourg, including the actors and context in which it is produced and, above all, its content. What do artists today and how do they say? By what means and through what media? Panellists include Hans Fellner, art historian and independent curator; Josée Hansen, journalist and author; Steph Meyers, head of programming for the Rotondes and Christian Mosar, art historian and critic. At 19:00 there will be a one-hour Video-conference with Harald Falckenberg on European cultural policies and their impact on the art market.
On Sunday, the exhibition is open between 10:30 to 18:00, with a guided tour at 12:00 in LU/FR, and at 16:00 in FR..
