The American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AMCHAM) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Benelux) have announced a joint luncheon event on Monday 6 November at 12:00 in the Cercle Munster in Luxembourg-Grund.
The luncheon will focus on the protection of financial intelligence data (FININT). The speaker for the event, Grahame White, is a consultant working with Luxembourg's financial regulator (CSSF) to raise awareness and to train key members of the Luxembourg financial sector in the skills and competencies to use technology and human intervention to protect financial intelligence data.
Criminal activities and terrorist organisations are very aggressively trying to involve themselves with legitimate business activities to steal money and intellectual property. They are ecoming more and more sophisticated at money laundering and using new and creative means to finance their activities. In response, governments at all levels are imposing new requirements accompanied by harsh penalties and expecting companies to know their customers and take aggressive steps to prevent illegal activities from taking place.
This luncheon will address these issues and the appropriate preventative steps to take. The cost of the luncheon is €50 for AMCHAM and STEP members. To register, see www.amcham.lu
