On Wednesday 13 March 2024, the choir of the University of Luxembourg reported that it has collected €1,800 for charity through recent concerts.

The funds were raised from the 380 attendees at the choir's three festive concerts held in Luxembourg-Ville, Gasperich and Bertrange on 8, 10 and 12 December 2023.

These funds have gone to support the ME/CFS Research Foundation, a pan-European investigation into diagnostics and therapies for Long COVID and Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) / chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

Andrea Brönnimann, who is a mother of an ME/CFS sufferer and who accepted the donation on behalf of the charity, explained: "These are post-infectious diseases that severely restrict the quality of life of those affected and lead to a high degree of disability. There is no effective treatment, that's why research is the greatest hope for those affected and their families. I am grateful to all those who donated so generously, and I also thank the Uni.lu Choir for helping to raise awareness of this condition."
