With temperatures set to rise in the coming days, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration has issued a series of guidelines for the owners of domestic, production and breeding animals in the context of hot weather.

The Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration has called on pet and livestock owners to guarantee the well- being of their animals by respecting the following measures:

  • animals must always have water in sufficient quantity and quality at their disposal;
  • animals must not be left (even for a short time) in parked vehicles exposed to the sun;
  • animals cannot be forced into excessive physical exercise during the hottest hours of the day;
  • animals kept outside must have adequate natural or artificial shelter in order to protect themselves from the sun.
