On Sunday 12 March 2023, 27 military personnel from Luxembourg left for Romania, to participate in NATO's enhanced Vigilance Activities (eVA) on board an A400M military aircraft of the Belgian-Luxembourgish bi-national fleet.

Luxembourg's participation in eVA Romania foresees an initial deployment of 27 military personnel, with a maximum threshold of 30 army members, for a total duration of 28 months, in the Cincu camp. The army members' mission is to participate with a light reconnaissance platoon, integrated in a Dutch/Belgian company, as well as possibly with operational, administrative, logistic or medical support positions.

Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, François Bausch, attended the departure ceremony.

"I would like to thank all the Luxembourg soldiers who guarantee our security in Romania, side by side with their NATO allies. Their presence sends a clear signal of deterrence and of the will to defend the Euro-Atlantic area together", said Minister Bausch.
