Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has reported that the country sent a second shipment of emergency equipment to Turkey on Wednesday 1 March 2023, as part of the Grand Duchy's humanitarian response to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

This operation, coordinated by the Foreign Ministry's Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, comes in response to a request from the Turkish government to support the affected population with in-kind donations. A first flight with emergency equipment donations departed on 22 February 2023.

The new batch of donations includes 4,000 sleeping bags, 2,000 hygiene kits and twelve electric generators for a total amount of €500,000, contributed by the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, as well as a donation of 50 medical transport boxes from B Medical Systems, a Luxembourg-headquartered manufacturer of medical-grade cold chain devices.

The donations were deployed through a charter flight operated by the national freight company Cargolux and co-financed by the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs and the European Union.
