The operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant, EDF, has announced that the production unit no. 2 of the Cattenom power plant was reconnected to the national electricity grid
It had been shut down on 24 June 2022 to allow the power plant teams to work on a ventilation system in the reactor building which had insufficient flow. This was a preventive shutdown, the reactor safety systems remained fully available and always functioned correctly.
The other production units are continuing their industrial programme: unit no. 1 is shut down for refueling and the performance of nearly 12,000 maintenance activities whilst units no. 3 and no. 4 are currently under expert consultation on portions of piping on an auxiliary circuit to the main primary circuit.
