Luxembourg's Minister for Tourism and for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Lex Delles, and His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke will lead a tourism promotion mission in Dubai.

From 6 to 8 November 2021, Minister Lex Delles and Prince Guillaume will participate in the “Luxembourg Tourism Days” as well as the closing of the “Made in Luxembourg” week, both of which are taking place within the framework of Expo 2020 Dubai. A delegation composed of various tourism stakeholders, as well as Luxembourg for Tourism, the national tourism promotion agency, and the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB), the official representative of the Grand Duchy for the promotion of professional events, will join this mission.

Luxembourg's presence at Expo 2020 Dubai represents a unique opportunity to promote the tourist assets as well as the know-how of Luxembourg companies. In this context, the General Directorate for Tourism is organising the Luxembourg Tourism Days at the Luxembourg pavilion in Dubai from 8 to 10 November 2021. This event will include in particular the setting up of a village of stands with various exhibitors from the tourism sector to highlight their diversity and creativity. Also planned is the installation of the “Luxembourg Sky Swing”, a swing that will take visitors to the Luxembourg pavilion on a virtual trip through the Grand Duchy, in the presence of professional tourist guides. The Hereditary Grand Duke and the Minister for Tourism and for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises will then open a workshop entitled “Inspiring travel & meeting experiences in Luxembourg”. This seminar will present the Luxembourg leisure and business tourism sector to Emiratis.

In addition to the tourism component, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Tourism Minister will close the “Made in Luxembourg” week, organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce at the Luxembourg pavilion from 1 to 6 November 2021. This event will highlight the variety and quality of work of small and medium-sized companies from Luxembourg. Prince Guillaume and Minister Lex Delles will tour the various stands and meet the exhibitors.

The mission's programme includes visits to several foreign pavilions on the Expo 2020 Dubai site, including that of the host country, the United Arab Emirates (UA). Minister Lex Delles will visit the Dubai Exhibition Centre, a space dedicated to events of more than 45,000 square metres, located in the heart of the site.

On the sidelines of these events, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Tourism Minister will meet with the UAE's Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi. Minister Lex Delles will also meet with major players in the Emirati tourism and SME sectors, including the Director General of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Helal Saeed Al Marri, the CEO of Dubai SME, Abdulbaset Al Janahi, and the Director General of Dubai's Department of Economic Development, Sami Al Qamzi.
