The Consulate General of Luxembourg has announced the New York premiere exhibition of “Portrait D’Atmosphere” by visual artist Jessica de Vreeze on Thursday 5 May from 19:00, at 287 GALLERY (287 Tenth Avenue, between 26th & 27th Streets).
Initially programmed to be exhibited in Luxembourg, “Portrait d’atmosphère” is premiering in New York City.
Jessica de Vreeze is French American, born and raised in Paris, France. Before recently moving to New York, she has been living in Luxembourg for more than 12 years. She said “I fell in love with Luxembourg and its inspiring architecture in the middle of an abundance of green; as well as its cosmopolitan touch - you can be sitting in a restaurant and hear six languages spoken around you. Luxembourg’s original and international values respect traditions and yet its modernity of an evolving expanding E.U. Luxembourg is the scene of constant innovations, yet sharing human values”.
In 2003, she was sworn in as a Lawyer by H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri. She then worked as a Lawyer for Arendt and Medernach and MNKS, until she became a Legal Advisor for Sky Broadband in 2008.
Prior to moving to Luxembourg, she was too young to enter the Beaux-Arts in Paris, until shortly after she had been accepted in Master of Arts Appliqués in La Sorbonne, Paris.
Despite a promising career in Law, she decided to switch career to become a visual artist. Between 2009 and 2014, she studied Art and Photography in Luxembourg. She showcased her photographs at private exhibitions, and was about to exhibit in a gallery in Luxembourg when New York became a higher calling, and decided to move.
