Luxembourg Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, is today in the capital city of Germany to deliver the opening address at the 14th Berlin Security Conference (BSC).
The BSC is one of the key annual events on European security policy, assembling more than 100 participants from fifty countries. Among them, many senior political and military officials, as well as experts from the worrld of defence who will come together for an intensive exchnage of views on current and future challenges in security-related policy.
Central topics at the conference will include the fight against terrorism, a fitting theme following Friday's Paris attacks, and the future of European and transatlantic defence. Discussions will also focus on issues of cyber security and the phenomenon of 'hybrid warfare', the military strategy blending conventional, irregular and cyber warfare previously discussed during the informal meeting of Ministers of Defence in September 2015.
Minister Asselborn will be at the conference to deliver the opening speech and engage in discussions with senior political and military leaders on topical issues.
