The Luxembourg government announced on Sunday that aid worth €100,000 is on its way towards helping the refugee crisis in Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.
In connection with the arrival into the European Union of a large number of applicants for international protection, the governments of Croatia and Slovenia and Serbia have applied for international assistance through the European civil protection mechanism.
The Luxembourg government meeting on Friday responded to this request and decided to assist the three countries through the Luxembourg Civil Protection and in collaboration with the High Commissioner to national protection.
Since acceptance of the offer was received, the logistics unit of civil protection was activated to prepare and package materials for transportation to the countries concerned. On Sunday at 17:00, in the presence of the Director of the emergency services, Paul Schroeder, a team of two volunteers from the Civil Protection left with a truck from Lintgen that aims to reach Slovenia tomorrow (Monday) to deliver 150 camp beds are 10,000 respiratory masks, 26,000 disposable gloves, 3,000 protective suits and 2 defibrillators.
The total value of assistance provided to the three countries amounts to €100,000.
