The Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg (ANZCCL) is organising a number of events in the second half of 2025.

The event "Unlocking Capital to Fund the Energy Transition: A Luxembourg-Australia Collaboration" is taking place as a webinar on Thursday 18 September 2025 from 09:00 to 11:00. In-person attendance (at Macquarie Asset Management in Luxembourg-Ville) is by invite only.

On 18 September, finance leaders, policymakers and industry experts from Australia and Luxembourg will gather for a high-level hybrid forum exploring how to bridge the multitrillion-dollar global climate finance gap.

Hosted by the ANZCCL and co-led by Darren Shipard (Board Member, ANZCCL) and John Lee (Macquarie Bank), the event will spotlight Luxembourg's world-leading sustainable finance expertise - including green bonds, blended finance and nature-based solutions - and how it can help unlock the AU$100+ billion per year Australia needs for clean energy and decarbonisation projects.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Oliver Johnson, Managing Director, ESG & Transaction Risk at Climate Asset Management - Fund opportunities in Australia;
  • Marcell Koves, Partner at Deloitte - Case study on how the absence of a Double Taxation Agreement blocked investment in an Australian renewable project;
  • Laetitia Hamon, Head of Operations & Sustainable Finance at Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) - Innovations in climate finance and green bonds;
  • Aldo Romani, Head of Sustainable Finance at European Investment Bank (EIB) - Empowering Australian issuers through EU green bond markets.

A roundtable moderated by Darren Shipard will bring together key stakeholders from  NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, including Warren Bartlett, Deputy Commissioner at Trade and Investment Queensland, Rob Grant, Managing Director of Pollination Group, Luke Bayley, CEO of South Coast Natural Resource Management Inc., and others.
