The Centre for Ecological Learning Luxembourg (CELL) - the Transition Hub is organising the 2020-21 edition of Transition Days Luxembourg, a nine-month initiative looking at how to move towards a resilient, just and responsible society.

The Transition Days are about proposing another future - and the ongoing coronavirus crisis serves as a reminder of how necessary that other future is. This year's edition will thus revolve around ways of living together in a resilient world, through the metaphor of a house: nine months, nine rooms in a house, nine thematic families to invent new ways of being and thinking. The initiative features nine conferences (both face-to-face and virtual), nine public events, nine artistic video installations and performances, articles, workshops and 36 challenges (one per week) to facilitate the ecological transition for everyone.

In September, the Transition Days will explore the roof of this house and unleash the imagination to tackle the complex subject of how to live together on one planet. This introductory month will include transition initiatives, strategies for collective resilience and the use of stories as tools for transformation.

Rob Hopkins, co-founder of the Transition movement, has been confirmed as guest speaker for the inaugural workshop and conference of the Transition Days, taking place on Thursday 17 September 2020 at neimënster. The workshop, entitled "Unleashing the Imagination for a Resilient World!", will be held from 14:00 - 18:00, and costs €80 (support), €40 (normal) or €1.50 (Kulturpass). This will be followed at 19:30 by the free conference, in English (with French translation provided), "How to live together in a one planet world?". Registration for the workshop and/or conference is mandatory at https://bit.ly/2Enn7mo.

Rob Hopkins is a co-founder of Transition Town Totnes and Transition Network and the author of The Transition HandbookThe Transition CompanionThe Power of Just Doing Stuff21 Stories of Transition and most recently, From What Is to What If: unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want. He presents the podcast series "From What If to What Next" which invites listeners to send in their “what if” questions and then explores how to make them a reality. In 2012, he was voted one of the Independent’s top 100 environmentalists and was on Nesta and the Observer’s list of Britain’s 50 New Radicals. Mr Hopkins has also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s "Four Thought" and "A Good Read", in the French film phenomenon "Demain" and its sequel "Apres Demain" and has spoken at TEDGlobal and three TEDx events.
