The Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA) is organising a lecture by Ricardo Flores, architect and founder of Flores & Prats, next month.

On Tuesday 12 November 2019, Ricardo Flores, founder of the Spanish architectural office Flores & Prats, will be giving a lecture on the topic "The discipline of the existing" at Carré in Luxembourg-Hollerich from 18:30. Flores & Prats is an architectural office dedicated to the confrontation of theory and academic practice with design and construction activity. They have worked in rehabilitation of old structures for new occupations, in the design of public spaces with neighbour's participation and in social housing and its capacity to create community.
Ricardo Flores' lecture will look at the case study of a former workers cooperative, built in Barcelona in 1924 and later abandoned for about 30 years. Rather than a sign of destruction, this cooperative symbolises the optimism of a new possible future: its rehabilitation transformed it into the new Sala Beckett Theatre and Drama Centre. The lecture will be given in English (no translation). Free entrance. Register at"The%20discipline%20of%20the%20existing"
