Details:  Aimed at health care professionals with an interest in the topic, this session aims to look at the role social media are increasingly playing as patients seek health information and engage with it in their care. Despite the exciting possibilities, challenges such as an overwhelming and conflicting body of information, a variable level of health and digital literacy among the population, and confidentiality and data security, need to be addressed. 

This workshop will offer a panorama of current social media applications and explore the perspectives of the health care professionals and the patients.

The workshop is organised as a pre-conference even for the Med-e-Tel 2017 conference on 5 to 7 April.
