Details: Anne Vriend returns to the Konrad on Wednesday 30 January as part of a three-week tour of The Netherlands, Germany (main part of the tour), France & Luxembourg. Anne Vriend is a Canadian singer-songwriter/pianist who has released albums including Soul Unravelling (2003), Modes of Transport (2005), When We Were Spies (2008) and Love & Other Messes (2011). Vriend's literary writing style reveals the influence of 1970s singer/songwriters such as Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, and Cat Stevens. Her unique vocals have been compared to the clear, vulnerable Nashville sound of Dolly Parton, the playfulness of Cyndi Lauper, and the raw power of Aretha Franklin and Etta James.
