The event is being held to round off the Irish Music Summer School that is being held this week.
Belair is literally hopping as 33 young students participate in the second Irish Music Summer School organised by Comhaltas Luxembourg. The classes covering step dancing, tin whistle, Irish songs and drama have been very popular and have attracted a wide range of nationalities with students ranging from Connemara to China. The aim of the week is to give children an exposure to Irish music and culture.
Cliodhna Dempsey has been teaching Irish songs, for the rest due to a shortage of tutors locally, Triona Byrne the tin whistle teacher has come from Galway, Brian O’Sullivan who is giving drama workshops based on Irish mythology flew in from Cork, and former Luxembourg resident Claire Fitzpatrick has returned from Egypt to give the dance classes.
Saturday's Ceili is not just for those attending the Irish Music Summer School - all are welcome.
