Details: The 2014 BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open tennis tournament is to be held from 11 - 18 October at the CK Sportcentre in Kockelscheuer, as announced at a press conference at the Grand Hôtel Mercure Alfa to promote this year’s tournament.
The player ambassador for the WTA International Series tournament will be Andrea Petkovic - Andrea has participated five times in Luxembourg, with her best result coming as Semi-finalist in 2012 (against Venus Williams).
Sunday, 12 October will feature a special ‘Gender Equality Tennis Day’ event where Andrea will team up with ATP player Gilles Kremer to take on another mixed doubles team. The “MEGA” Trophy will be presented by Minister Lydia Mutsch. The match will be followed by an Invitation to the BGL BNP PARIBAS VIP-Club for a discussion on “Forces et Faiblesses” moderated by Christiane Kremer with participants including Minister Lydia Mutsch, Councillor Colette Mart, Florence Fischer, Zonta Club, Andrea Petkonvic, and a WTA Player and an ATP player, to be announced. The discussion will be followed by a “Walking Dinner”.
