Details: A Presentation by Richard M. Brandt, Director of the Iacocca Institute and the Global Village, Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This event will take place on Thursday 13 March at 12:00 (venue to be confirmed).
Based upon the November Fortune Magazine article by Chris Anderson, this morning’s discussion is a non-traditional look at the Leadership Skills of two very different CEO's.
Elon Musk (Tesla and SpaceX) has been named the Businessman of the Year by Fortune Magazine. He is compared to the late Steve Jobs as a Transformer and Disrupter of Industry and people. These two CEO's are tops in a particular industry, but along the way have developed very special skills that few people have and are noted for their Determination, which dwarfs all other skills.
Most business innovations involve only incremental improvement. And of those entrepreneurs lucky enough to succeed with bigger ideas, the large majority then stick to their industry sector for expansion and consolidation. Jobs and Musk are in a category all their own: Serial Disrupters. Related to this is their incredible thought processes. They both have a mental trait that is extremely rare - system-level design thinking powered by extraordinary conviction.
Note: Dick Brandt has more than fifteen years of experience working with young entrepreneurs and professionals from more than 120 nations who pass through the five-week intensive Global Village program each year.
