Details:  The French pop / folk / singer-songwriter Julien Doré will perform at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg on 27 February 2014, with tickets going on sale this Thursday 17 October.

In cooperation with Rockhal, the Philharmonie Luxembourg presents a concert by a remarkable artist: Julien Doré. After two albums, two Victoires de la Musique awards and more than 450,000 records sold, Julien Doré returns with his new album, “Løve”. This time, he wrote it entirely and worked together with stage musicians and friends during the composition. A solar, danceable album between groove and melancholy, with songs that are a subtle mix of elegant lyrics and bewitching melodies. Feel free to discover them live at the Philharmonie on 27 February, 2014.

It will not have escaped anyone's attention that there is a slash through the O in “Løve”, the title of Julien Doré's third album. Julien has learned that in Lars Von Trier's language, the ø stands for “island” and that, get this, “løve” means “lion”! All of a sudden it all makes sense: each song becomes a small island of love, and the album is their archipelago.

For the very first time, Julien Doré reveals his inner life, he who tiptoed into the world of Chanson through the casting show “Nouvelle Star” and his first album “Ersatz". This time, he dared to write his own songs together with “his buddies”. It is with them that he found the feeling of being in a band and understood that even if he cherished the feeling of loneliness, he was nothing without the others.

Julien doesn't think it is a sad record even though the lyrics are full of ruptures and abandonment and a great deal of the melodies heart-breaking. He just recognises that it's melancholic. “I've written the lyrics without complicating them by looking for rhymes”, he says. “Yes, they are about broken love but I only wanted to preserve what was beautiful about it, the greatest pictures, the sun rises, even if it is going to set in the end. This record's groove is meant to wipe the tears away.”

As usual, Julien takes us to Viborg, Denmark, to the Seychelles, to Spain and Colombia, Tokyo and St. Hilaire, Angoulême and Rome, London and Praslin, Cherbourg and Sevilla, to the Dead Sea and, of course, to Paris. These places have always been the ones where sails have been set, yet never invented for rhymes or exoticism.

With his incredible new album “Løve”, Julien Doré's concert on 27 February 2014 (doors open 19:00) at the Philharmonie Luxembourg is an event not to be missed!
