The Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE) will host the public performance of the 14th edition of the Hip Hop Marathon at its premises on Thursday 19 June 2025 at 19:00.
The event will take place this year at CAPE (1 Place Marie-Adelaide, Ettelbruck) as original initiators of the project and regular hosts, Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, cannot host the project as they are renovating the venue.
CAPE reported that this edition of the marathon, which revolves around the theme of “Lost & Found”, saw around 170 students from twelve preparatory programmes explore the world of loss and rediscovery through various workshops and artistic performances undertaken over a period of several months. The exploration was structured around various sub-themes such as identity, hope, transformation and rediscovery - notions which had been addressed by the students, with a personal perspective on their lives, friendships, their place in society, encounters and the quest for self-discovery.
For fourteen years, the Hip Hop Marathon has invited preparatory students to express themselves in the core disciplines of hip-hop, rap, dance, beat-making and graffiti. Accompanied by their teachers and supervised by professionals in the field, students from several high schools across the country engage each year in this artistic and collective project. Each class selects one of the disciplines, with the goal of creating a complete hip-hop show through that medium, which students then present to the public.
Tickets are available now and cost €8 (normal), €4 (youth) or €1.50 (Kulturpass)
