This Sunday 8 December 2024, the Orchestre Place de l’Europe will present a festive concert at the Trifolion in Echternach at 17:00.
Under the direction of Benjamin Schäfer, the programme will feature a carefully curated selection of classical and contemporary works that celebrate the season. The audience can look forward to excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, alongside Debussy’s First Rhapsody for Clarinet, performed by soloist Arthur Stockel. The evening will also include Artie Shaw’s vibrant Clarinet Concerto and highlights from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, featuring both the overture and suite arrangements.
Founded in 2022 by the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Orchestre Place de l’Europe consists of 110 amateur musicians, including several members of the Philharmonie team. The Orchestre Place de l’Europe is led by Benjamin Schäfer, percussionist of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
