On Saturday 19 September 2026, the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg held the fourth stage of its five-day race across the Grand Duchy, a 20.4-kilometre individual time trial in Ettelbruck.

Starting and finishing in Ettelbruck, the route initially took riders over relatively flat terrain through Grenzingen, Buerden, Welsdorf and Colmar-Berg. A sustained climb began after approximately four kilometres, leading towards Karlscheuer before the course continued over rolling terrain through Michelbouch and Mertzig. The final section featured a descent back towards Ettelbruck, with the route comprising around 350 metres of elevation gain.

Several hundred cycling fans gathered along Route de Bastogne to watch the riders complete the time trial. Škoda Tour de Luxembourg Director Andy Schleck and Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, were also present near the finish to follow the final metres of the stage.

Yellow jersey holder Davide Piganzoli (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) won the individual time trial in 26:49.95, finishing three seconds ahead of fellow Italian Andrea Raccagni Noviero (Soudal Quick-Step). Britain’s Leo Hayter (Modern Adventure Pro Cycling) completed the stage podium, nineteen seconds behind the winner. His brother, Ethan Hayter, won the fourth-stage individual time trial at the 2025 Škoda Tour de Luxembourg.

Mathieu Kockelmann finished as the highest-placed Luxembourg rider on the stage, taking 25th place in 28:00.69, 01:11 behind the winner. Arno Wallenborn (Team Lotto Kern-Haus Outlet Montabaur) remains the highest-ranked Luxembourg rider in the general classification, sitting 25th with an overall time of 12:18:37, 08:27 behind the leader.

Andrea Raccagni Noviero had held the provisional lead for much of the competition and was only displaced by the final rider to start, general classification leader Davide Piganzoli.

The victory strengthened Piganzoli’s position at the top of the general classification. He now leads Matteo Vercher (TotalEnergies) by 47 seconds and Thomas Gachignard (TotalEnergies) by 49 seconds, while also retaining the lead in the young rider classification.

Following the stage, Davide Piganzoli said: “It was really hard. I wanted to give my maximum, which I had never really done in a time trial. The second part of the course, with the descent, was very technical and suited the time trial specialists. With my fifteen-second lead at the intermediate point, I was therefore not sure whether it would be enough. But then I gave everything. I am confident; my team and I are ready to defend the yellow jersey tomorrow.”

Pepijn Reinderink (Soudal Quick-Step) remains at the top of the mountains classification with eighteen points, followed by Nils Politt (UAE Team Emirates XRG) with fifteen and Conrad Haugsted (Team ColoQuick) with thirteen.

TotalEnergies leads the team classification with a combined time of 36:36:02. Team Visma | Lease a Bike sits second, 01:07 behind, while Soudal Quick-Step is third at 02:09.

The Škoda Tour de Luxembourg will conclude on Sunday 20 September 2026 with a 177-kilometre fifth stage from Place Saint-Michel in Mersch to Avenue Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg. The final route will feature 3,083 metres of elevation gain and will determine the overall winners of the five-day race.
