Details:

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May 2024, Rosport will host the third edition of the DIY fair “Maker Faire Luxembourg”.

It is a meeting place for DIY enthusiasts, tinkerers and creatives, "makers" from Luxembourg and the Greater Region.

The Maker Faire Luxembourg will offer many practical activities for all ages. In addition to talks and demonstrations, participation stations and workshops will offer a varied programme.

"Among the highlights of this year's Maker Faire Luxembourg are the performances of the Abacus Theater, Exoot as well as the giant MAX drum robot from Ponytrap", explained Christian Moll, who was able to attract to Luxembourg many “makers” from abroad. There will also be local figures such as Alain with his homemade arcade games and developments for people with special needs or such as thirteen-year-old Kian and Joshua, the youngest makers of this edition of the Faire.

The grand final of the third “Self eSTEAM” Challenge will also take place at the Maker Faire. Visitors under 24 can still participate in the “Self eSTEAM” challenge. On Saturday and Sunday, it will be possible to build a boat for the challenge on-site. These can also be tested in the pond specially designed for this purpose. “We have already received many creative submissions,” explained Eric Krier, who coordinates the challenge, “the jury will then determine the winners of the twelve categories on site.

This year, several demonstration competitions will also be presented in several robotics categories. In total, this year's Maker Faire will bring together more than 50 stands and more than 200 exhibitors. This is, therefore, the largest edition of this event in the Greater Region to date.

Visiting the Maker Faire is free. Catering is provided during the two days. The Maker Faire Luxembourg is coordinated by the “make it” association, in close collaboration with the Tudor Museum and the municipality of Rosport-Mompach.
