Details:
The Comité pour une Paix Juste au Proche-Orient asbl (CPJPO; Committee for Fair Peace in the Middle East) is organising a demonstration in Luxembourg City on Saturday 2 December 2023, calling for a "permanent ceasefire" in Gaza
The march will depart from Glacis in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg at 15:00 (gathering from 14:45 at the Theater tram stop), ending at Place de Clairefontaine in Luxembourg-Ville around 16:00.
The CPJPO lamented the deaths of more than 6,000 children in Gaza, as well as tens of thousands more who have been injured in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The organisation is calling on the Luxembourg and other EU governments to "put pressure on Israel so that the current truce in Gaza turns into a permanent ceasefire, so that international and humanitarian law is respected and that all food convoys, water, medicine, gasoline and electricity can enter Gaza without obstruction, and hospitals can reopen."
The CPJPO has also called for the release of hostages on both sides, as well as a "permanent peace solution" which aligns with international law.
This demonstration is open to all.
