Details:
Luxembourg Internet Days, organised by LU-CIX, will take place at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 November 2024.
Over the course of two days, the event will combine conferences, roundtables and interactive workshops, as well as an exhibition bringing together 45 exhibitors.
More than 1,100 visitors, seasoned professionals (ICT, IT, OT), business or administrative decisionmakers and elected officials and municipal agents are expected to discuss questions of connectivity, Internet and network security, and ICT issues in general, to learn about trends in cyber-attacks and vulnerability exploitation and explore protection solutions together with the topic of their resilience. Two panel discussions dedicated to the NIS2 Directive (EU cybersecurity legislation) will bring together experts and users to propose pragmatic "roadmaps" for the implementation of their compliance.
LU-CIX ASBL added that the event will be an opportunity to discover protection and resilience solutions, to strengthen proactive defence strategies and to consolidate the knowledge and skills of professionals working in critical infrastructures as well as in structures of all types and sizes.
On the new "Gemengen Dag", on 20 November, the municipal sector will receive special attention during a dedicated parallel event. Elected officials, IT professionals, heads of technical and IT services, advisors and other personnel from municipalities and municipal unions will be invited to participate in interactive presentations on practical and concrete solutions with testimonies from municipal agents for their IT management, their IT security and their obligation to comply with the NIS2 Directive. This day will take place in French and Luxembourgish.
This year's event also puts Romania in the spotlight. The 2024 partner country was chosen for its "dynamism" and "proactivity", and various actors, experts and personalities are set to travel to Luxembourg for the occasion. The Romanian Ambassador to Luxembourg, Alexandrina-Livia Rusu, will be accompanied by Dan Cîmpean, Director of the National Directorate of Cybersecurity of Romania.
The keynote speeches will see cybersecurity experts dive into the latest trends, emerging threats and cutting-edge solutions that are shaping the future of cybersecurity. Among them is Luca Tagliaretti, Executive Director of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (E3C), who will deliver his keynote speech on 19 November at 15:40.
Special guests and speakers also include government ministers Elisabeth Margue (Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity), Lex Delles (Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism) and Léon Gloden (Minister for Home Affairs).
Connectivity, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and IT resilience will be the major themes of Luxembourg Internet Days 2024. Particular attention will also be paid to compliance with the NIS2 Directive, to help professional users of Internet-related technologies protect themselves against the risks linked to the occurrence of attacks, and to facilitate the continuity of activity.
