The Comité National - Comité pour la défense des droits de l'Homme en Iran is organising an event in honour of the late Mahsa Amini at Cessange cultural centre on Saturday 16 September 2023 at 13:00.

This event is taking place on the anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman who died in Iranian morality police custody, on 16 September 2022, after being detained for for violating hijab laws. Her death sparked nationwide protests.

According to the organisers, this gathering stands as an integral facet of a global network, spanning 80 cities. Its significance lies not only in its commemorative nature but in the resounding call for unity and action against the critical human rights issues plaguing today's world.

The event's core objective is to "cast a searing light on the dire human rights situation", with a specific focus on the plight of women's rights in Iran. Through a series of speeches, presentations, a thought-provoking short film, performance art and more, the organisers will thrust these issues into the global spotlight.
