After ten year of existence, the Last Summer Dance festival is back and is organising a very last dance; the eighth edition of the music and arts festival will take place on Friday 25 August 2023 in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre (just north of Ettelbruck) in the castle park (21 Porte des Ardennes), from 17:00 - 03:00.
Exactly ten years ago, the festival was born and offered an alternative experience that went beyond simple musical programming. Decentralised, multidisciplinary, sustainable, accessible: these are some of the pillars that have made the Last Summer Dance an unmissable event in Luxembourg.
The artists lined up are mainly Luxembourgish, with the exception of a group from Barcelona.
In the spirit of a relaxed afterwork, members of the public will be able to see the project of the talented singer-songwriter Hannah H on stage on Friday evening. World music lovers will be delighted to discover the Barcelona group "Awa Pa Las Calvos", which mixes urban rhythms with flamenco and even pop.
The headliner will be EDSUN with his unique style, a key figure on the Luxembourg music scene; he is preceded by the indie-rock group Dessy Mesk who will play their only concert this summer at the Last Summer Dance.
To end the 2023 edition in style, spectators will be able to sing and dance to the sounds of Nea Lone, a new rock-pop project by singer Nadja Prange and DJ Aka Ghost.
The organisers have also planned an art exhibition. Seven artists who have already participated in the festival have been selected to give their point of view on the Last Summer Dance. Works by the following artists will be on display: Marina Herber, Anne Gillen, Lynn Kelders, Maurizio Fusillo, Elena Hentges, Mila Thoma and Léa Giordano.
A magazine will also be published to accompany the festival and make a retrospective of the last ten years. Part of the art exhibition will highlight the founding history of the festival in a humorous way.
Catering: Traditional grills will be offered by the Hobbyclub of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.
