Details:
Project Bike & Rotondes are organising the We Ride event at the Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 July 2023.
There are more and more cyclists on the roads and there is nothing better than cycling to take care of your health and your planet; above all, the road on two wheels is twice as fun!
Do you want to join the clan of muscular calves, preferably on a used bike? Do you have an extra bike, mountain bike or BMX at home? Go to the We Ride! For two days, the second-hand bike market allows one to sell one's old two-wheeler and/or find the little gem that will become one's best friend on the road.
If you are selling a bicycle, there is no need to be there all the time as the We Ride team takes care of all bike sales; however, if you have a stand, your presence will be required. There are no fees for the sellers who decide the price and one gets the asking amount if one's bike has been sold (no sales = no fees). As the money from sales goes directly to the owners of the bikes, payments can only be made in cash. The sale price of each bike will be increased by approximately 10% (with a minimum of €10 if the sale price of the bike is less than €100) to cover the costs of organising the event.
Times:
- Fri 7 July: 16:00 - 22:00
- Sat 8 July: 10:00 - 18:00
Registration
Pre-registration is open online until Tuesday 4 July at 23:59 at https://forms.gle/nFDuT36F9mR3XV9T7. After this, on-site registration is available on Thursday 6 July (14:00 – 20:00), Friday (10:00 – 22:00) and Saturday (10:00 – 14:00).
The return of the money from the sale of one's bike, or the return of one's unsold bike, will take place on Saturday 8 July between 18:00 and 19:00. After this period, all unsold bicycles may be donated to the Riding the Rainbow Asbl.
Riding the Rainbow is a solidarity and circular economy project to support refugee youth and children. Born in Luxembourg to support Ukrainian children and youth fleeing the war by facilitating the donation of bicycles and sporting goods in physical garages, it has expanded locally and internationally through the development of an app (made in collaboration with developers in Ukraine) that facilitates direct encounters between all refugees (not only Ukrainians) and locals, eliminating the need for intermediaries, hence promoting social integration.
