Details:

The Vélorution will celebrate its tenth anniversary on Saturday 22 April 2023 with an unusual event around bicycles and their potential, to be held as part of Culture Night (Nuit de la Culture).

To celebrate this milestone, the "vélorutionaries" from Esch-sur-Alzette have given free rein to their imagination to build unidentified rolling objects, inspired by the world of Jules Vernes. Sea monsters, dreamlike creatures and other improbable constructions will be on show. Everyone is invited to decorate their bicycle following this theme or according to their own inspiration.

The event will start at 14:30 with a “Repair and Pimp my Bike” workshop at the Rockhal courtyard in Esch-Belval.

14:30 Repair and Pimp my Bike workshop at Rockhal courtyard in Esch-Belval

16:30-17:00 Journey to Audun-le-Tiche (France), playground on Rue Clémenceau

18:30 Return to Esch-Belval

20:00 Screening of films on the theme of cycling, powered by "power bikes" in Esch-Belval

With this event, the citizens’ cycling collective Vélorution Esch wishes to demonstrate in an artistic way how cycling can change one’s life and the city at the same time. Imagination will take centre-stage this Saturday in Esch-sur-Alzette, in order to invite the various competent authorities to create the conditions favourable to the development of the bicycle as a means of travel and daily transport.

This tenth edition of Vélorution is being organised with the support of Nuit de la Culture, Transition Minett, Fondation Follereau and Uni.lu Bike Club.
