The second edition of TN'Teens, organised by TechSense by The Dots, will take place at Les Terres Rouges building in Esch-Belval on Thursday 30 March 2023; doors open at 08:00.
This event aims to promote the new technologies sector to 220 secondary school students and bring together industrial actors and digital talents of tomorrow.
Technologies are today ubiquitous and have always been present in the lives of most young people. According to the organisers of this upcoming event, this is a growing domain, one that is both challenging and promising for current and future generations. The STEM field is looking for more and more highly qualified talents and offers an increasing number of professional opportunities. This in turn leads to an increasing demand for education.
In 2022, TechSense by The Dots created TN'Teens, an event pursuing the dual objective of promoting the new technologies sector to young people and bringing together industrial actors and digital talents of tomorrow. One year later, the organisers have decided to hold a second edition of this day gathering some 150 secondary school students from Luxembourg and the Grand Est region (France).
This year again, students will broach the tech concepts of blockchain, coding, design thinking and cybersecurity. But this time, a new trending theme will also be tackled: the "metaverse". The programme starts with a morning of workshops dedicated to these five fields, where students can awaken their interest in new technologies and their stakes. The afternoon is dedicated to a big quiz, where they are invited to test their knowledge acquired during the first half of the day and answer some general culture questions. For this quiz, the contestants will be mentored by a figure from the Luxembourg technology community and win high-value gifts, offered by the event sponsors and partners.
Luxembourg's Minister of Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, is supporting this initiative and will share some words with the students in the afternoon. Moreover, ethical hacker SaxX will host one of the workshops. He will present his own background, tackle the technological challenges of cybersecurity (with mini quizzes and mini goodies up for grabs) and share his do's and don'ts on digital privacy.
