Details:

The Regional Tourist Office Mullerthal Region - Luxembourg's Little Switzerland is organising the "Cleanup Day Mëllerdall" initiative, for the third time in a row, as part of World Cleaup Day on Saturday 17 September 2022.

World Cleanup Day is a global movement dedicated to the prevention of litter on land and at sea. The initiative coincides this year with the end of the Mullerthal tourist office's "Care for your forest" campaign, which launched in April 2022 with the aim of preventing littering along hiking trails, at starting points and in car parks.

Centred around the motto "Every day is cleanup day", this year's initiative encourages the public to pay attention to nature and remove litter every day of the year. New this year is the possibility for hikers to pick up the rubbish with small wooden tongs. These are provided for free at the tourist offices in the region. Participants are also advised to bring a rubbish bag and gloves with them to pick up the rubbish.

As in previous years, the campaign partners are the Nature- & Geopark Mullerthal (Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall), Leader Mëllerdall, Luxembourg's Nature and Forest Agency, the various municipalities and the regional tourist offices.

Those wishing to take part in this year's Cleanup Day Mëllerdall are asked to get a hiking group together and register with the Mullerthal tourist office via email: info@mullerthal.lu or via tel.: 720457-1. The tourist office will help participants find the appropriate hiking trail for their hiking group.

The litter collection points and sites where participants can get their tongs are detailed on the homepage of the Mullerthal tourist office website: www.mullerthal.lu.
