Details:

The 21st annual Duck Race will take place on Saturday 23 April 2022 on the River Alzette in Luxembourg-Grund.

A total of 16,000 (plastic) ducks will "swim" the short course; with each duck being sponsored, a number of non-profit organisations will benefit from this charity event. The start will be near the Melusina statue, with the finish just above the weir which is located around 300m downsteam (towards Clausen).

The event will take place in front of Neumünster Abbey (neimënster), with the abbey's courtyard open from noon for members of the public to eat and drink before the big event itself, which commences at 15:00. Traditional Luxembourgish grills will be on site, with food options also including chips, vegetarian options and desserts.

Sponsors of ducks who are among the first 30 to cross the finish line will win a number of prizes, with the top prize being a Volkswagen Taigo car and many cash prizes also available, up to €2,500.

Organised by the Luxembourg Round Table, the organisations that will benefit from the event include the Fondation Autisme Luxembourg (FAL), SOS Kannerduerf and Indiana Jos Tous.

To sponsor a duck costs €5, either beforehand (via www.duckrace.lu) or on the day itself at Neumünster Abbey.
