On Monday 19 October 2026, Luxembourg-based space data company adwäisEO announced that it will celebrate its tenth anniversary at the NeoSpace Europe networking evening, which takes place in Luxexpo the Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

According to adwäisEO, which belongs to the ACRI-ST Group, throughout the past decade the company has developed from satellite data archiving to cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

AdwäisEO explained that initially it focused on the long-term preservation of data from scientific Earth observation missions operated by the European Space Agency (ESA). The company stored backup copies at locations in Luxembourg and France to preserve the data and ensure its future availability.

The company later expanded its activities to include managing satellite data and operating the LSA Data Center (LSADC), which handles observations from the Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 satellites under the European Copernicus programme.

It also developed high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities to process large volumes of satellite data, alongside its Terra adwäis cloud platform, which provides data storage and computing services.

More recently, adwäisEO has contributed to DestinE, a European initiative developing digital twins of the Earth, by preparing data for use in cloud environments. The company is also working on datasets for training artificial intelligence (AI) models.

AdwäisEO currently employs around 30 people in Betzdorf, near SES. The company plans to move into temporary offices in Luxembourg-Kirchberg before relocating to the Space Campus in Kockelscheuer.

Its data infrastructure is housed in facilities operated by EBRC in Betzdorf and LuxConnect in Bissen, with backups stored in France.

Looking ahead, adwäisEO noted that it plans to strengthen cooperation in space data, high-performance computing and AI, particularly through MeluXina and the Luxembourg AI Factory. It aims to develop applications for agriculture, water management, natural hazards and infrastructure, while expanding its private cloud services for businesses and public administrations.
