Banque Raiffeisen has announced that it is introducing the concept of "decentralised working" by opening five satellite offices in Luxembourg.
The cooperative bank noted in a press release on Monday 10 July 2023 that it has already introduced several measures aimed at improving the well-being of its staff, for example the "Thank God it's Monday" campaign.
Now, Banque Raiffeisen has introduced "decentralised working". This concept, which combines teleworking and satellite offices, aims to offer additional flexibility to eligible staff members, thereby enhancing their well-being at work.
The bank's five new satellite offices provide a total of 80 workstations and were set up specifically for this purpose. They are located in Luxembourg but are close to national borders and/or easy to reach, assured Banque Raiffeisen. The satellite offices are located in Steinfort, Differdange, Kayl, Mondorf-les-Bains and Niederfeulen.
These offices are expected to enable staff members to reduce mobility problems (and the related carbon footprint), while restoring greater equity in the number of days which cross-border workers can work from home compared with Luxembourg residents. This measure is subject to certain rules designed to ensure the availability of staff members, social cohesion and team spirit while maintaining the quality of services, products and facilities offered to customers. The bank added that working from satellite offices may be convenient when staff members need to limit the number of journeys between their home and work or when teleworking is not possible.
Banque Raiffeisen also announced its plans to set up an additional satellite office in Wasserbillig by the end of the year.
This new measure is being offered to staff members whose tasks can be done just as well remotely, without the need for a daily physical presence in the usual workplace, clarified the bank. Each year, a maximum of 100 days of decentralised working is authorised, taking into account the days actually spent teleworking and the use of a satellite office.
