Luxembourg trade union ALEBA has announced that, on Friday 6 March 2020, an agreement for a social plan was reached for Mercedes Pay employees.

Following the decision of Mercedes Pay to cease its activity in Luxembourg, ALEBA reportedly responded to the staff delegration's requests for support during negotiations for a social plan.

On Friday 6 March 2020, the last day possible for negotiations before having to take the matter before the national conciliation office, the staff delegation and ALEBA finally reached an agreement with the management of Mercedes Pay and signed a social plan. The plan includes accompanying measures as well as financial compensation taking into consideration the age and family situation of each of the 37 employees to be affected by the closure of Mercedes Pay in Luxembourg.
