The number of jobseekers registered with the ADEM employment agency in Luxembourg has increased by 0.8% over one year.
As of 30 September 2019, the number of available jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 14,692. Over one year, this represents an increase of 110 individuals, or 0.8%. On the other hand, the number of available non-resident jobseekers registered with the ADEM was 2,389 at the end of September 2019, a decrease of 10.1% compared to September 2018.
Over the course of September 2019, the ADEM opened 3,112 new applications from resident jobseekers, an increase of 25% compared to the previous year. In addition, the agency opened 605 new applications from non-resident jobseekers, which represents an increase of 124.1% over one year. The number of closed applications also rose.
In addition, the total number of beneficiaries of employment benefits in Luxembourg was 4,164 at the end of last month. Over one year, this represents an increase of 81 individuals, or 2.0%.
During the month of September 2019, employers reported 3,407 vacancies to ADEM, which equated to 173 or 5.3% more posts than in September 2018.
