On Saturday 10 May 2025, the final match of the 2024/2025 Luxembourg Men’s Volleyball Championship play-off series (Novotel Ligue Herren) took place at the Centre Sportif et Culturel Atert in Bertrange.

Volley Bertrange and VC Stroossen faced off in the decisive third match of the final series to determine the 2024/2025 Luxembourg Men’s Volleyball Championship title. The two teams had previously met in the Coupe de Luxembourg final in early March 2025, with VC Stroossen emerging victorious on that occasion. In the championship series, the teams traded away wins: VC Stroossen took the opener in Bertrange with a 3-0 victory (25-27, 16-25, 23-25), while Volley Bertrange responded with a dramatic 3-2 win on Stroossen’s home court a week later (25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 16-25, 11-15), having come back from a two-set deficit.

The deciding match saw the teams return to Bertrange, but this time the home side was unable to mount a challenge. Massimo Tarantini’s team claimed the first set 25-20, followed by a 25-21 win in the second. The third set proved to be VC Stroossen’s most dominant of the series, with Juan Pablo Stutz’s team falling 13-25 — their lowest set score across all three final matches. VC Stroossen secured a straight-sets victory, 3-0.

In an interview with Chronicle.lu, VC Stroossen head coach Massimo Tarantini stated: “It's never easy because you need every time to play until 25 and you need to win three sets. Last week, we went a little bit down with our level on the reception. We had a few problems to spike and today the goal was to keep the reception to have a lot of pressure on the surf and then to block and this I think was good or clear. [It] can every time be better, but we did it very well in the service, especially we surfed very well.” He added: “It's every time better to be champion in the hall of our opponent.”

This marks the nineteenth championship title in the history of the team from Strassen and the tenth season in which VC Stroossen has achieved both the league and cup titles, completing the double.
