On 14 and 16 May 2019, the Luxembourg army welcomed over 550 secondary school students to their information days at the Diekirch barracks.

The students were able to gather information from the different stands of the Luxembourg army, police and the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps, the Bus Service of the Ville de Luxembourg, the Roads Administration and Customs and the Excise Department, as well as penitentiary institutions and the detention centre.

On 16 May, Minister of Defence Françoise Bausch also visited the barracks to discover the programme offered to students. Minister Bausch used this occasion to highlight the many assets of the Luxembourg Army: "The army as an employer offers volunteer soldiers, professional soldiers and civilian personnel a multitude of diverse positions and a motivating and rewarding work environment."

In addition to the numerous information stands, students were able to discover exhibits of military equipment and vehicles, as well as see demonstrations of the army and the canine section of the Customs and Excise Department.
