Luxair Launches 1st Flight from Luxembourg to Manchester

Luxair, the flag carrier of Luxembourg, celebrated its inaugural flight from Luxembourg Airport in Findel to Manchester Airport (UK) on Monday 15 April 2024.

The inauguration of this new route saw a flight take off at 10:20 on Monday morning, with passengers being offered refreshments (pastries, English breakfast tea, Luxembourgish crémant) on board. A photo session served to capture the moment and create memories for passengers, who also received scarves from Luxair, allowing them to show their allegiance to the Manchester United or Manchester City football clubs.

The British Ambassador to Luxembourg, Fleur Thomas, was present for this milestone.

The flights from Luxembourg to Manchester are scheduled three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Updated to add / clarify: Although 15 April marked the official inauguration / celebration of this new route, the first Luxair flight from Luxembourg to Manchester took off on 29 March 2024.
