On the afternoon of Thursday 17 April 202, Luxair announced that, due to an unexpected general strike in the Spanish hospitality industry, local hotel services on the islands of Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma are likely to be reduced today and tomorrow, 17 and 18 April 2025.

According to a press release, the LuxairTours team is in contact with affected customers and is actively monitoring the situation; they are also in direct communication with LuxairTours guides and are working closely with local partners to support "impacted guests".

They have reported that, currently, hotels are operating with reduced services, with a minimum guaranteed food and beverage service being provided; however, full hotel services are expected to resume on 19 April 2025.

Luxair stressed that flight operations to and from the Canary Islands are not impacted and that all Luxair flights will operate as scheduled.

Luxair has apologised for any inconvenience caused and stated that they "appreciate our customers’ understanding. Luxair remains committed to providing the highest level of service and is taking all necessary measures to minimise the impact of these external disruptions".
